Fun Fairs can cause living hell...

Yesterday, I went to something called 'The Hadleigh Show' which is in a small town near Ipswich, Suffolk.

So, I went with my friend, Eleanor. And we spent four hours on the fun fair there. We paid £5.00 to get in, but the rides were free so...

Anyway, first ride. It's called 'Rock City'. It was like a large bar of seats, with a single lap bar restraint. It swung you up, down, left and right. So it swings up and right, then back to the bottom. The up and left, then back to the bottom. Then a full circle, then up to the top again. Shakes left and right vigirously, then swings a few more circles, more shaking, then it finished. Guess what... I lost three quid on it! I tell the vendor running the ride, he says 'tough'.

So, now short of money after losing £3.00, we move onto the Waltzer next to it. It starts slow, then it sped up to an incredible speed, so fast you couldn't sit still, then a bloke comes and spins your cart by hand! Guess what happens next... smoke! Yes, the ride caught fire. Whilst we're all on it. And the ride can't stop! It didn;t make the news or anything, it was a small fire with the special effects, which is suppose to fill the Waltzer with smoke and water, but still. So, we're here, coughing, screaming and spinning, smoke pumping out whilst the ride is on fire, and guess what. I GOT WHIPLASH! My neck still hurts 24 hours later...

Finally that ends, off the Waltzer, although I went on it again later when they fixed it, same as I went on Rock City again later, but me and Eleanor move onto another ride. It's called The Hamster Wheel. It's basically a large circle cage, which you just stand in and hold onto the sides. No restraints or anything. It spins you around and around then it goes vertical, whilst spinning you. So your either facing the sky, or the floor since your moving too fast to see anything else. Eleanor lost her shoes on it! But it's not funny since I lost my neckchain too.

Urrgh, what hell we had. Can't wait for next year. Dodgems went fine, and so did 'The Ministry Of Sound, Star Spin' which is basically like a Zipper ride, except a star. It spins you around it a circular shape like a ferris wheel I guess, at 45 mph, whilst your cart spins too. So you constantly go upside down. That was fun.

May 2009 - I am going again, what fun it shall be! Also, can't wait for the Alton Towers trip in June!

thats really bad luck rob, you lost £3.00, the ride caught on fire and then your friend lost her shoe that must of been the luckest day of your life

Don't forget me getting Whiplash

The Waltzer was really dark, it had like boards around it and then it used strobes inside. I think they called it the 'Ministry Of Sound Waltzer' or something. It was some kind of big music name like MOS.

I got a slight case of whiplash on the Waltzer. Then, I went back at 6:30pm last night, and rode the Waltzer seven more times!!!!! Now my kneck is suffering badly from whiplash.

I swear these things were built to steal money out of your pockets. I bet the ride operators come along at the end of each day and open a hatch and fill there pockets will all the valuables that the ride has tipped out of peoples pockets. Remember to take trousers with zippy pockets so you can put all your stuff inside them =P.

Too bad you got whiplash, must hurt.
